Call for Workshop Proposals

Please note: All deadlines are over. This text is here only for reference.

Proposals have been invited for workshops to be held on the morning of July 28, 1999. Workshops, which are a new feature of ICCBR, will provide participants the opportunity to discuss specific technical topics. The format and content of each workshop will be determined by the workshop's organizers. Workshop attendees must register for the main ICCBR'99 conference.

Organizational Information

Workshop organizers are encouraged to avoid the style of a "mini-conference", but to instead promote an atmosphere conducive to the informal exchange of ideas.

A time slot of about 10 minutes each will be provided at the main conference program for summaries of the results of the workshops. The summaries should be presented by (one of) the workshop organizers.

Each workshop organizing committee will be fully responsible for the content and the format of the workshop. The organizers must:

Produce a call for participation in the workshop. It should also make clear the process by which the organizing committee will select the papers and presentations. It should also note that all workshop participants must register for the conference. Note that the workshops must be open to all registered participants of ICCBR'99.
Select presentations and papers, if any.
Edit workshop notes, if any.

ICCBR will provide:

A meeting place and logistical support for the workshop.
Printing of the workshop notes as Technical Reports of the Centre for Learning Systems and Applications (LSA) of the University of Kaiserslautern.

Any special audio-visual requirements and special room requirements must be arranged with ICCBR by July 1, 1999.

ICCBR reserves the right to cancel any workshop if deadlines are missed or if too few attendees register for the workshop to support the costs of running the workshop.

To cover costs, it will be necessary to charge workshop participants a small workshop fee in addition to the normal ICCBR'99 conference registration fee.
