Public Transportation

The Campus is served by “Tramway T1” , which connects with subway lines A and B at “Charpennes Charles Hernu” station and Line B at “Lyon Part Dieu” station. You can download the Lyon transportation map.

The exact location of the conference is shown here. The easiest way to reach it is the following:

From Part Dieu Station or Charpennes Charles Hernu Station: take the Tramway T1” and get off at stop “Université Lyon 1”. Nautibus Building is just one minute from the stop.

Please note that a bus ticket is valid one hour from the fi rst use. You can combine bus, subway and tramway with the same ticket (within a limit of one hour).


Lyon’s geographic location at the heart of a motorway network of more than 1 000 km puts it at less than 2 hours from the large towns and cities in the region. 1h 30min from Geneva, and 2 hours from Clermont-Ferrand and the Alps, 3 hours from Turin and Marseille, 4 hours from Paris and 6 hours from Barcelona.

By air

Lyon-Saint Exupery is the French airport with the largest number of routes outside Paris, with 27 French towns and cities connected by daily scheduled flights, 43 scheduled international routes, 19 charter routes and 7 cargo routes (winter programme). Part Dieu TGV Station is 30 minutes from the airport Lyon-Saint Exupery multimodal station. From Lyon Saint-Exupery Airport, take the tramway RhoneExpress for Part-Dieu TGV station which runs every 20 min.


With two stations in the town center, Part-Dieu and Perrache, and a third at Lyon Saint Exupery Airport, the TGV high-speed train network puts Lyon today at the heart of Europe.

The Campus is 20 minutes from Part-Dieu TGV station and 30 minutes from Perrache station. TGV trains run between Lyon and Paris every hour or every half hour. Lyon – Paris : 1h55, Lyon – Marseille : 1h35, Lyon – Genève : 1h50, Lyon – Bruxelles : 3h50. Online ticket booking is possible on the SNCF website.

Wi fi access Eduroam is available on the campus. If you do not have access to eduroam, wi codes are available at the registration desk.

Volunteers You may ask volunteers for help or for any questions. They will be happy to help you. You will recognize volunteers from their red shirts with the conference name on it.

Going back to the airport If you want to share a taxi to go to the airport or the train station, tell our volunteers. We will to our best to organize your trip. However, note that it is easier and faster to go to the train station by tram than by taxi!
