Call for Workshop Proposals

The ICCBR'01 organizing committee invites proposals for workshops to be held at the 4th International Conference on Case-Based Reasoning (ICCBR'01) to provide participants the opportunity to focus on specific technical aspects or unique application areas of CBR.

Organizational Information

Workshop organizers are encouraged to avoid the style of a "mini-conference", but to instead promote an atmosphere conductive to the informal exchange of ideas.

A time slot of about 10 minutes each will be provided in the main conference program to summarize the results from each workshop. The summaries should be presented by (one of) each workshop's organizers.

Each workshop organizing committee will be fully responsible for the content and the format of the workshop.
The organizers must:

Produce a call for participation in the workshop.
It should clarify the process by which the organizing committee will review and select the papers and presentations, note that all workshop participants must register for the conference, and that the workshops must be open to all registered participants of ICCBR'01. In addition, the submission procedure, format, and dates should be included, and be in accordance with the dates provided at http://www.iccbr.org/iccbr01/cfw.html
Review and select presentations and papers, if any.
Edit and submit the workshop notes to the workshop program organizers, if any.

ICCBR will provide:

A meeting place and logistical support for the workshop.
Printing of the workshop notes as Technical Reports of the  Navy Center for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence (NCARAI)  of the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL)

The camera ready format of the workshop papers is the AAAI's double-column format on 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper (Word and LaTeX macros can be found here).

ICCBR reserves the right to cancel any workshop if deadlines are missed or if too few attendees register for the workshop to support the costs of holding it.

To cover costs, it may be necessary to charge workshop participants a small workshop fee in addition to the normal ICCBR'01 conference registration fee.

Submission of Workshop Proposals

Workshop proposals should provide sufficient information to evaluate the quality and importance of the topic, the goals of the workshop, and the size of the interested community. Proposals should identify one or more chairs and a program comittee participating in the publication of the workshop and the review process.
